@tamabi should not be a mere showcase for study at TAMA ART UNIVERSITY- we would like to make it a space for interdisciplinary activities and discussions which go beyond the borders of this university. These are a few of our current ideas:

Setting up of internet discussion forums, ListServs. Already thousands of such discussion forums exist on an international level; however, we think that there is still room for and interest in a forum with original content, such as research and ideas out of the media & interface design course. Currently active discussion groups can be searched at the following URL: <http://www.tile.net/tile/listserv/>

Initiating a joint study project with other universities. @tamabi wants to interconnect projects of creation all around the world. Working together on projects in different contexts will challenge our preconceived notions and expand the scope of our studies. By respecting our responsibility within the cycles of information ecology we aim to connect the implementation of design for local needs with the knowledge of global interrelatedness.

Creating and supporting communication environments in areas with a less fortunate infrastructure. When talking about global networks, we tend to forget that currently only a very small percentage of the world's population has access to such networks. The number of telephones in the whole of africa, for example, is below that of the Tokyo metropolitan area alone.@tamabi is currently investigating the possibilities of building an internet partnership with the FACULTY FOR APPLIED ARTS at HELUAN UNIVERSITY in Cairo.
