布を織り染める事は世界各地で古くから行われ、それぞれに相応しい美が求められてきました。日本では染色の基本的な技法として三纈(蝋纈、夾纈、纐纈)が培われ、固有の染色文化が生まれてきました。
TL2では1, 2年に引き続き一枚の布から表現出来る可能性を探るための基礎と応用を学びます。
伝統技法の応用として滲み染、友禅染、型染、注染等の防染技法や布を変容するための特殊加工や加飾技法、またデジタルとの組み合わせ等、様々な技法を習得する事により創造力を養い、デザイン力を身につけて染技法を用いた新たなテキスタイル作品を生み出すことを目標とします。SPeople have been weaving and dyeing textile in all ages around the world in pursuit for the beauty of each work. Three fundamental dyeing techniques have grown in Japan; ‘ro-kechi’, ‘kyou-kechi’ and ‘ko-kechi’, which have made contribution to the development of Japanese own dyeing culture.
Following the first and second years of education, TL2 will continuously lead students to further study fundamental techniques and apply them to explore potentiality of expression embedded in one piece of fabric.
As application of traditional method, they will learn and use resist paste dyeing techniques such as ‘dip-dyeing shimi-zome’, ‘yuzen’, ‘kata-zome’ and ‘chusen’. Special treatment to transform and decorate textile, combination with digital technology and other types of technique will help students to improve creativity and capability of design for innovative textile products.
